To be performed by the Kirk Players June 9-11, 2023 To be directed by Patrick Blake I am very excited to have the opportunity to direct this wonderful play. It has had three successful runs on Broadway over the years. It is a very gentle and very funny comedy about the lives of four sisters. It is set, in small town America in the late 1920’s though it could fit up to the early fifties. I think of it as if the Golden Girls was set in the old Mayberry. Please follow the link to view character descriptions. This is just a guide, we are looking for your take on these interesting characters. Auditions will be held at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 10 S. Lake St., Mundelein. on Monday, April 10, and Wednesday, April 12, with call backs on Thursday, April 13 if needed.
We are asking everyone to preregister for auditions by Friday 4/7. Please indicate your availability and preference for Monday and/or Wednesday night on the audition form.
Over that weekend we will send out your audition date and time slot. (7 pm, 8 pm, 9 pm)
We are asking everyone to perform a monologue, 2 min max. There will also be readings from the script. Monologues are not required to be memorized, but I wish to hear how well you do after you have worked with a piece.
We will try to accommodate Walk in’s, but it is not guaranteed. Please send in your form before the deadline.
The Kirk Players are a community arts organization and we always welcome new volunteers, on and offstage. So even if you do not become part of the cast, please consider joining us helping backstage as we build the story of these four sisters. Thanks,
