The Kirk Players & Mundelein Arts Commission Announce Auditions for Miracle on 34th Street

The Kirk Players in conjunction with the Mundelein Arts Commission (MAC) announce open call auditions for their upcoming radio play production of the beloved holiday classic, Miracle on 34th Street.  

Director Joyce Lee is looking for two women, five men, one teen boy (who can also play younger), and a young girl who can vocally play around 6-8 years old.  

• Actors will play several different parts covering 30 characters throughout the show.  

Auditions will be held Monday October 20th & Tuesday October 21st, from 7-9 pm, at 175 North Archer Avenue in Mundelein, IL 

Auditioners will be asked to read from the script and fill out an audition form listing experience and conflicts. Forms and information will be available on The Kirk Players website (www.kirkplayers.org) and at the door. 

Rehearsals are tentatively set for Tuesday and Thursday evenings, beginning with a read-through on Thursday the 23rd at 175 North Archer Avenue in Mundelein, IL 60060.  
There is some flexibility in rehearsals depending on schedules, and not everybody will be required at every rehearsal.   

The production dates are Friday & Saturday, December 5 & 6 at 7:30pm and Sunday December 7th at 2 pm at 175 North Archer Avenue in Mundelein, IL 60060. 

The script being used is the LUX Radio Theater script that was originally performed on December 20, 1948, by the original stars of the movie, including Maureen O’Hara, John Payne, and Edmund Gwenn. It will be performed in the classic radio production style, with special effects to add realism, giving the audience the chance for a behind-the-scenes look at how such shows were created.  The production is child-friendly and will run about an hour. 

This collaboration between The Kirk Players and the Mundelein Arts Commission 
 brings together two groups dedicated to promoting theatre and the arts in the Mundelein area. Tickets will be $5, and seating will be limited. All proceeds will be donated to charity.
