Kirk Players playbill for our 53rd season begins with the romance mystery-noir comedy, Red Herring, by Michael Hollinger. “We’ve wanted to do this show for a long time”, says Jon L Lynn, Kirk Player’s artistic director, “and now with all the interesting geo-political conditions at play around the world, it just seems like the right time!”
The play’s backdrop is 1952 America on the verge of the H-Bomb. Dwight D Eisenhower is on the campaign trail and “I Love Lucy” is on TV on Monday nights. Three love stories, a murder mystery and a nuclear espionage plot converge to deliver a clever and suspense-filled story entwined with farcical humor that will keep the audience laughing and thinking.
