Summer Shakespeare Shorts Open Auditions Held June 20-22!
The Mundelein Arts Commission and Kirk Players are partnering this year to present Summer Shakespeare Shorts: Sounds and Sweet Aires live at Kracklauer Park in August. Open auditions will be held June 20–22 (a Tuesday through Thursday) from 7:00 – 10:00 PM at the Regent Center (1200 Regent Lane, Mundelein). Thursday, June 22 will be a call back and is also open to auditioners who were unable to attend the earlier dates. Rehearsals will begin the week of June 26, with the ensemble gathering Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays for evening rehearsals. Sounds and Sweet Aires, compiled and directed by Jon L. Lynn of Kirk Players, is a wonderfully comical and romantic romp through a handful of the Bard’s most entertaining plays: The Taming of the Shrew, Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Tempest, and others. The show will be performed live at Kracklauer Park on the weekends of August 4-6 and 11-12. Flexible casting for 16 years and up. Auditioners are asked to come prepared to deliver a monologue or sonnet, no longer than a minute. Can be read, does not need to be memorized!
