PRESIDENT’S REPORT Kirk Players’ 57th season was an opportunity to regain our momentum and evolve. Last season positioned us well as we came out of the pandemic. This season saw three strong mainstage shows, plus many other opportunities for new directors, cast, crew and our audience to experience theater. We welcomed some new members, welcomed back some honorary members, and said thank you to a few departing members. We had a strong, collaborative Board of Directors including new Directors Terry O'Brien and Mindy Billock. We unfortunately lost our Artistic Director Gretchen Grassl. The Board partnered with the Strategic Planning Committee to review and refine Board roles and scopes of responsibility. That effort also resulted in the creation of several “specialist” roles (many of which have been filled) to address critical needs like community outreach and technical production expertise. Almost all of our monthly Membership meetings were in person and were well attended. We listened to our members by adding a little more fun to our meetings while striking a balance between “business” needs and member camaraderie. With our Members’ safety in mind, we crafted a Conduct Policy that is being rolled out at this annual meeting. We added a monthly newsletter recap of all activities happening across our organization, and conducted a new member orientation / welcome session. And we capped off the season with our annual banquet celebrating all of our good work that has benefited our organization and our community. Thanks to our sponsors, donors and patrons for enabling us to thrive in a challenging environment. Generous donations, grants and sales have kept us financially solvent to pursue our mission. We continue to provide scholarships and support for the arts and other needs in our community. Kirk Players provides the opportunity for us to practice the craft that we love while giving back to the community. I want to thank all of our members, committees and volunteers. It takes more than a village to keep a 57-year-old performing arts community alive and vibrant. We appreciate those who help us deliver our mission, volunteer their time and talent, and model the behavior at all times that makes us all proud to be Kirk Players. Cheers to our continued success! Peter
